Rhapsody Arts Center announces the Eleventh Annual Sonatina Festival! The event raises awareness, appreciation, and understanding of the sonata and sonatina musical forms, and promotes music education.
Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Rhapsody Arts Center
Started in 2000, the Sonatina Festival is the area’s largest fall piano competition. Since inception, the festival has had 1,512 participants throughout the Midwest.
The competition is open to students of all ages and levels of study from Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa.

A hands-on exploration inside a piano to get elementary and middle school students excited about making music!
The program begins with a short, catchy video tour of a piano factory followed by hands-on exploration inside a real Steinway to learn how 12,000 parts come together to make music.
